MagaPoke Guide #

This step-by-step guide is to help users navigate the MagaPoke site through the registration process, points top-up process and purchasing new chapters on the website. They do have mobile applications available but this guide is specific to the website version.

Registration process #

1. Navigate to the Magazine Pocket website.

2. Click on the “Login/Registration” link as shown in the screenshot below:
   

3. In the popup window, navigate to the bottom and click on the “Registration” link as indicated in the screenshot below:
   

4. Enter your email address and check the box to agree with the usage terms.
   

Upon submission, you will be informed that a confirmation email has been sent to your email address:

5. In your mailbox, you should receive an email that looks like this. Click on the link to confirm your email address.
   

6. Upon opening the link, you will be prompted to enter your password:
   

If all works out, you should see a succes confirmation and you can click the link to go back to the homepage!

How to top-up your points #

1. On the upper-right corner of the screen, click on “My Page” or “0pts” to navigate directly to the points page.
   

2. Click on the “Buy Points” (dark blue button) to begin the purchasing process.
   

There are two ways to purchase points:

• Monthly Course: this automatically tops-up your account with a fixed amount of points for a specific amount of cost. See #3.
• Pay-as-you-go: you pay a specific amount of cost for a specific number of points. See #4.

Do note that points can expire! So don’t purchase a lot unless you know you will use them up before they expire. Daiya no Ace chapters currently go for 80 pts each (or 80 yen, approx. USD $0.80 for reference).

There is an alternate way to purchase all the chapters of the magazine, which is the “Subscriptions” area. The rate is 840 yen/month. You will have access to a month’s worth of the Weekly Shonen Magazine - about 4 issues per month. Since each issue retails for 300 yen, you will save a bit of money.

3. After you click on “Buy Points”, you will be presented with two options. However, monthly course is selected by default. Selecting one of the available choices will top-up your account with a fixed amount of points for a specific amount of cost EACH MONTH.
   

4. If you select the pay-as-you-go choice (my recommendation), selecting one of the available options will top-up your account with a fixed amount of points for a specific one-time cost.
   

5. After you’ve made your choice, you will be prompted to select a payment option. For international users like us, “Credit Card” will be the only viable option:
   

6. In the next screen, enter your credit card information and hit Submit.
   

It should finalize the payment and you will see your points increased. You are ready to buy new chapters now!!

How to buy a chapter #

1. Make sure you have at least 80 pts available in your account. Navigate to the Daiya no Ace page.

2. Chapters available for purchase will have a “80pts” beside them. Clicking on them will lead to a button to confirm that you wish to redeem 80pts for it.
